Invited chef Mark Gaffney: Executive chef of Lucille's Oyster Dive
Chef Mark Gaffney : A native of Cork, Ireland, Mark Gaffney discovered his culinary calling when he left home at the age of 15 to work for a summer in the kitchen of the Woodlands House Hotel in Limerick, Ireland. When it was time to return to school, Gaffney bought his teacher some flowers, thanked her kindly and told her that he would not be returning to her classroom, but rather that he had found his passion in life and would be applying to culinary school instead. From there, Gaffney never looked back. He graduated from culinary school at Tralee RTC in Kerry, Ireland and went on to learn about the secrets of French cooking from the best French chefs in Dublin, Oxford, and Angers. Gaffney has lead culinary teams at various Michelin Star Restaurants throughout Ireland and England including; Restaurant Patrick Guilbauld, Le Manoir aux Quatre Saison, and L’Ecrivant.
